The shortlist of finalists for the 2014 World Car Awards (WCAs) has been announced, revealing the cars that will compete for the 2014 World Car of the Year, as well as the World Luxury Car, the World Performance Car, the World Green Car and the World Car Design 2014 awards. In what initially looks like a baby Ford Raptor or a true successor to the F-150 SVT Lightning, Ford has revealed a special trim package for their F-150, named the Tremor. Featuring the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine packing 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, the Tremor comes with the short-wheelbase, regular cab and 4x2 set-up.
Speed Cameras in Newcastle switched off
Speed cameras – certainly many of them – are nothing more than tax generators. But if you live, or travel, in Newcastle, then speed cameras have contributed virtually nothing – they’ve all been switched off for up to four years. Newcastle has a total of fourteen speed cameras, but to save money the local council has had them all switched off for the last two years, and some of them haven’t worked for four years in a secret, money-saving exercise.
